Nashoba Tech's outdoor club ski program just finished up a five week Thursday night ski program at Pat’s Peak. During February vacation they enjoyed a full day of skiing and as a perk, the students got vouchers for Waterville Valley and Bretton Woods to ski with friends and family. All had an amazing season! Thanks to Mr. Slotnick and Mrs. Larkham who joined us to chaperone!

Three Nashoba Tech students participated on a student panel run by the Dept. of Elementary and Second Education (DESE) about the Seal of Biliteracy. The students, Lorrainy Rodrgues, Lorenna Teixeira and Maria Resende, who are multilingual, are native speakers of Portuguese and two (Maria and Lorainny) also have a high level of Spanish due to Spanish classes at Nashoba Tech. The DESE networking event celebrated 5 years of the Seal of Biliteracy and included many workshops (on zoom) about a variety of topics related to language learning. This includes World Language, English Language, Dual Language and Heritage language programs. Over 200 administrators and teachers from across the state participated in the event. Nashoba Tech was asked by DESE to put together a group of students who have earned the prestigious Mass State Seal of Biliteracy certification. This certification is for students who earn high MCAS scores (to test their English) and then also a high level in a partner language. This is done through testing. The students shared their program of study here at NT, their future goals, and also why being multilingual is an important employability skill.
