Nashoba Tech Outdoor Club students met with Phil Stanway of Chelmsford to do some community service work and trail maintenance. They cleaned away fallen branches and trail overgrowth in the historic Lime Kiln Quarry Property on Rt 110.
The group enjoyed learning about the history of the area and also hiking around and through the quarries and the caves! They also hiked about 3 miles in the process! Amy St. Arnaud, club advisor, accompanied the students.
During the school year, the students have also enjoyed hiking, kayaking, snow tubing, stargazing and skiing!

Congratulations to Destanee Soba and Tristan McDermott on being named CAC Lower Division Male and Female Athlete of the Year by virtue of their 4 Gold medals. Both won the 100M, 200M, Long Jump and Triple Jump. Way to go!

Congratulations to the Nashoba Tech students who earned a John and Abigail Adams Scholarship. The scholarship provides a tuition credit for up to eight semesters of undergraduate education at any of the 29 UMass universities, MA state universities, and MA community colleges.
Eligibility to earn a John and Abigail Adams Scholarship is based on students' first-time scores on high school MCAS tests.
Scholarships will be granted to students whose combined MCAS score places them in the top 25% of students in their district
• Score in the Advanced category on one of three high school state assessment tests in English Language Arts, Mathematics, or STE (Biology, Chemistry, Introductory Physics or Technology/Engineering)
• Score in the Proficient or Advanced category on the remaining two high school state assessment tests

Nashoba Tech had a successful trip to the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference held in Marlborough, MA. Nashoba Tech had 65 students attend the conference: 33 competing in the Skills contests, 5 students competing in the freshman events, 1 student competing in Technical Math, and 26 competing in the Leadership Events.
The students participating in the leadership events also served as Delegates for our school, in support of Mariyana Lords who was elected as State Officer Elect! Mariyana will travel to Atlanta, Georgia in June and participate as a voting delegate during the National Leadership and Skills Conference.
She will then be sworn in as a State Officer, attend leadership training workshops, and serve in her State Officer position during all of the SkillsUSA conferences next year.
At the conclusion of the closing awards ceremony, we had nine students winning a total of six medals in five different contest categories. Our Nashoba Tech winners are as follows:

Suki Floyd - Silver medal in Advertising Design
Robin Gordon and Lena Wilcox -Silver medal in Audio/Radio Production
Shannen Bardzick with her model Emily Pagan - Silver medal in Nail Care
Kierah Bongiorno - Silver medal in Telecommunications Cabling
William Urbaniak - Bronze medal in Telecommunications Cabling
