A student at Nashoba Valley Technical High School received honorable mention in the 2021-2022 Massachusetts Partnerships for Youth annual Poster Project.

This year’s theme was “Peace Brings the World Together.” The project endeavors to create and sustain an environment in which all students can participate in school peacefully. There were 441 total entrants.

Maiti Halloran of Townsend, daughter of Sean and Jessica Halloran, and Heather Halloran, earned honorable mention with her drawing, “Give Connection a Chance.” Maiti is a sophomore in the Design & Visual Communications program.

Maiti said she came up with her poster design while working freehand.

“It shows two hands forming a bridge,” Maiti said, “and on the hands there are a bunch of people, families greeting each other, and the sun is shining down.”

She said she got the germ for her idea from Michelangelo’s “The Creation of Adam.”

“I was into drawing hands at the time,” Maiti said. “It shows that we’re all connected in some way if you look closely.”
