The Viking Bistro, the award-winning restaurant at Nashoba Tech, will reopen to the public on October 8.

Folks can come in for a sit-down lunch on Thursdays and Fridays on alternate weeks, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., when school is in session; takeout lunch is available every week. For the schedule, call 978-692-9958. To check out the weekly menu, visit https://www.nashobatech.net/page/viking-bistro.

The Viking Bistro is staffed by students in the Culinary Arts program, under the watchful eyes of Chef-Instructor Paul Wilson and Chef-Instructor Carley Capraro.

Throughout the school year, the Viking Bistro’s dining room will see upgrades designed to be more appealing to diners.

“We’ll be beautifying over the course of the year,” Capraro said.

The Viking Bistro has won several awards over the past 20 years at the Taste of Nashoba, hosted each spring by the Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce. Culinary Arts students have also taken home the top prize each of the last two years at the Massachusetts ProStart Competition, also held each spring at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.

The menu at the Viking Bistro typically includes appetizers such as corn and bacon chowder, chicken wings and tenders, and salads; and such entrees as a cheeseburger, turkey sandwich, two hot dogs, baked haddock, peachy honey fried chicken, and a flatiron steak;
