Dear NVTHS Families,
Welcome back! I hope you all had a restful February break. Although the blizzard gave us an unexpected extension to our vacation, it has been absolutely wonderful to see the students back in the building and jumping right back into their routines. Freshmen are excited to be in their shops getting started on in depth technical training.
As we look ahead, I want to share a few important updates on what is happening around the school:
Please note that next Friday marks the end of Term 2. This is a great time to check in with your students about their classes and encourage them to finish the term strong!
Next Thursday and Friday, we will also be welcoming our NEASC visiting team. We are incredibly proud of our school community and look forward to showcasing the wonderful things our students and staff accomplish every day.
Because we had to use two snow days earlier this week, I want to provide a quick update regarding our school calendar. Our expected last day of school has been pushed back and is now scheduled for Wednesday, June 17.
Since we still have a bit of winter left to get through, I want to give you a quick heads-up about how any future weather cancellations might impact our schedule:
If we have 1 more snow day: The last day of school will move to Thursday, June 18.
If we have 2 or more additional snow days: The calendar will push into Friday, June 19. Because June 19 is Juneteenth—an officially observed state and federal holiday—school will be closed. This means any snow days beyond one will push our last day of school into the following week.
We will keep you updated if any further changes to the calendar occur. Thank you, as always, for your patience, support, and flexibility as we navigate the rest of this New England winter!
Jeremy Slotnick, Principal

Join Cartwheel and Amy McCarthy Baluch, LICSW, for a free, live webinar: Navigating the Tough Talks: Strategies for Talking to Teens about Substance Use on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 12–1 pm ET
Parents and caregivers will learn practical strategies for starting conversations, responding calmly to tough questions, and helping teens make safer, healthier choices, while keeping trust and communication strong at home.
