Nashoba Tech has selected Salvatore Arena and Jordan O’Neill, both of Westford, as Athletes of the Month for December.
Salvatore Arena, son of Rick and Lori Arena, is a junior who excels at center for the hockey team. He has played a variety of sports over the past three years but this year is concentrating on hockey and golf. He is an honor-roll student in the Carpentry program who plans to enter the workforce after graduating.
Sal was nominated by hockey coach Steven Lowney, who wrote: “Sal has demonstrated a team-first attitude, coupled with an energy and effort that stand out to teammates, coaches and spectators. He leads by example with his commitment, effort and sportsmanship. He plays a complete game, contributing offensively, and is also an outstanding defensive forward.”

Jordan O’Neill, son of Ryan and Amanda O’Neill, is a freshman who had an impressive December for the Vikings. He was the champion in his weight class at the Wilmington Holiday Tournament and placed third at the Tyngsboro Big Red Tournament. He hopes to get into the Plumbing & Heating program and to operate his own plumbing business.
Jordan was nominated by wrestling coach William Corr, who wrote: “Jordan’s knowledge of the sport and dedication make him one of the young leaders of the team. He is a pleasure to have on our team. His work ethic is outstanding, both on and off the mat.”
