Nashoba Tech’s SkillsUSA team at the State Leadership and Skills Conference

WESTFORD – Nine students at Nashoba Tech captured a total of six medals at the annual SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference, held May 1-3 at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel in Marlborough and at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School in Upton.

In total, 65 students from Nashoba Tech attended the conference, either as competitors, delegates or candidates for the position of State Officer.

The competitors had qualified for the State Conference by finishing in the top three at the District Competition in April.

Following are Nashoba Tech students who earned medals at the State Conference.

* Amanda Pespisa (senior, Westford) and Montana Gott (senior, Littleton), silver medal, 3D Visualization and Animation.

* Suki Floyd (senior, Westford), silver medal, Advertising Design.

* Robin Gordon (junior, Chelmsford) and Lena Wilcox (junior, Ayer), silver medal, Audio/Radio Production.

* Shannen Bardzick (sophomore, Westford), silver medal in Nail Care, assisted by her model, Emily Pagan. (sophomore, Chelmsford).

* Kierah Bongiorno (senior, Chelmsford), silver medal, Telecommunications Cabling.

* William Urbaniak (senior, Chelmsford), bronze medal, Telecommunications Cabling.

Also, Mariyana Lords (sophomore, Westford) was chosen as a State Officer Elect. This will mean that she will travel to Atlanta, Georgia in June and participate as a voting delegate during the National Leadership and Skills Conference. She will then be sworn in as a State Officer, attend leadership training workshops, and serve in her State Officer position during all of the SkillsUSA conferences next year.
