4 STUDENTS OF THE MONTH NAMED FOR JANUARY AT NASHOBA TECH

Nashoba Tech has selected four Students of the Month for January, based on the school’s “Portrait of a Graduate” attributes: resourceful, responsible, resilient, respectful and ready.

Owen Campbell, (photo) son of Ken and Jessica Campbell, is a junior from Shirley in the TV & Media Production/Theater Arts program. He is an honor-roll student and a member of the wrestling team. He hopes to attend college after graduation.

Owen was nominated by Spanish instructor Amy St. Arnaud for his “tremendous capacity to show respect to his teachers and peers.”

She added: “Owen is also a shining example of responsibility and readiness, as he always has his assignments done, showing his best effort, and always has his materials ready and accessible.”

Max Cutrona, son of Gus and Laureen Cutrona, is a senior from Townsend in the Electrical Technology program. He is a high-honors student and has participated in SkillsUSA. He works for Brooks Electric in Fitchburg through Nashoba Tech’s Cooperative Education program, and hopes to continue his career as an electrician after graduation.

Max was nominated by English instructor Bruce Sullivan for being one of the top Advanced Placement English students, achieving the highest score of 5 on the AP exam.

He added: “Whether it is writing a literary analysis or volunteering to read a part in our play, Max never fails to give his best effort.”

Shaun Driscoll Jr., son of Shaun and Malvena Driscoll, is a senior from Westford in the Plumbing & Heating program. He has participated in SkillsUSA and, through his church, spent time last summer helping to renovate homes in Pennsylvania. He is a three-sport athlete for the Vikings. This is his second time being recognized as a Student of the Month, having achieved the honor as a freshman.

Shaun was nominated by math instructor Mark Quattrocchi, who called him one of the best students he has taught in his more than 30 years of teaching.

“Recently, Shaun has taken it upon himself to quietly help his peers who are having difficulties with new materials,” he added. “I have witnessed his kind and thoughtful approach to treating his classmates who are struggling on multiple occasions. Shaun is a top-shelf person in every aspect.”

Hannah McAnulty, daughter of John and Emily Edwards, is a junior from Pepperell in the Early Education & Care program. She is an honor-roll student, a freshman mentor and a member of SkillsUSA.

Hannah was nominated by two teachers. Early Education & Care instructor Christine Patenaude, who wrote that Hannah stepped up and helped with freshman exploratory when she was out of school for three days.

“She came up with activities related to and similar to what I would have done,” Patenaude wrote. “The substitute teacher raved about how well Hannah had done keeping the classroom managed, holding discussions related to early childhood and selling the technical area.”

Spanish instructor Amy St. Arnaud wrote: “Hannah is a top student of mine in Spanish 2 and she always exceeds expectations. She is very interested in Spanish-speaking cultures and is starting to communicate at the intermediate level. Hannah will be fluent in Spanish one day and knows what an asset that is. She is also a pleasure to have in class.”
