PUESCHEL, ROKITA NAMED ATHLETES  OF THE MONTH AT NASHOBA TECH

Nashoba Tech has selected two Athletes of the Month for January.

Derek Pueschel,(photo caption)  son of Mark and Erin Pueschel of Ayer, is a senior wrestler for the Vikings, excelling at the 150-pound level. He is a high-honors student in the Engineering Technology program and regularly volunteers for his church. Derek has committed to entering the U.S. Army upon graduation.

He was nominated by wrestling coach Richard Reppucci, who wrote: “Derek has shown excellent sportsmanship, leadership and learning abilities. In addition, he is a good person and an excellent representative of the Nashoba Tech community.”

Sydney Rokita, daughter of Tom and Kathryn Rokita of Westford, is a sophomore standout for the indoor track team, excelling in the 300 meters, 600 meters, 55-meter hurdles and high jump. She also plays soccer and softball for the Vikings. She is an honor-roll student in the Auto Collision Repair & Refinishing program, and plans to go to college after graduation.

She was nominated by track coach Bruce Sullivan, who wrote: “Sydney is an outstanding leader. She was voted as team captain by her peers, as she leads by example and always encourages her teammates to do their best.”
