Peter Zaferacopoulos of Littleton won a gold medal at the SkillsUSA National Competition, held June 19-23 in Atlanta Ga.

Peter, known as “PJ” around school, won the top spot in the nation in Cosmetology. He is a rising senior in the Cosmetology program at Nashoba Tech.

PJ earned his spot in the Nationals by winning a gold medal in the SkillsUSA State Conference held earlier in the spring.

At the Nationals, PJ had to take a written exam, work hands-on in three areas of hairstyling – color, design and cut – and show his skills in personal communication by taking a mock customer phone call.

PJ is just the second Nashoba Tech student to earn gold at the SkillsUSA National Competition. Jason Gendron of Dracut became the first-ever in 2019, earning gold in Information Technology Services.
