GOALS

Provide a quality academic and technical program for each student

  • Ensure students appreciate the value and benefits of continuing their education

  • Provide opportunities for students to develop marketable skill in preparation for entering an increasingly competitive workplace

  • Encourage students to become lifelong learners in technical, academic, and professional settings

  • Provide state of the art curriculum, equipment, and facilities to support and encourage student achievement

  • Encourage staff development and professional improvement

  • Counsel students in making appropriate career choices consistent with their interests and abilities

  • Provide practical dual enrollment and co-op opportunities that relate to students’ possible career goals

  • Ensure continuous, effective communications with the communities we serve

Develop positive attitudes in students

  • Advocate pride, self-esteem, self-discipline, and personal responsibility

  • Teach and model respect for others, regardless of race, creed, gender, national origin, personal limitation, or sexual orientation

  • Provide a safe and caring environment built upon mutual respect and positive interpersonal relationships

  • Promote policies in the technical areas and classrooms that are consistent with the NVTHS philosophy

Develop the full potential of each student

  • Offer curriculum and programs that allow the student to discover and develop his or her unique strengths

  • Help students develop positive values, behavior patterns and the ability to work cooperatively with others

  • Emphasize problem solving, reflective thinking and creativity in their personal and professional goals

  • Provide effective communication among teachers and staff responsible for each student’s progress

  • Provide a range of sports and extra-curricular activities that will enable students to test and develop new areas of achievement

  • Coordinate career exploratory programs that encourage students to consider traditional and nontraditional areas of study and work

  • Encourage students to consider the long-term economic consequences of their academic and technical options

  • Provide programs that will promote emotional maturity, economic security, physical well-being and safety

Motivate students to achieve academic and technical excellence

  • Provide teaching that challenges and inspires the students

  • Offer programs that develop student initiative and creativity

  • Recognize those students who demonstrate the highest levels of academic and technical excellence

Motivate students to become productive members of society

  • Provide opportunities for students to develop not only their academic and occupational options, but also their civic, social, and cultural skills

  • Emphasize the value of becoming life-long learners

  • Ensure that students understand the importance of becoming responsible and productive citizens

Please note effective August 2017 the Nashoba Valley Technical School District formally adopted a three year District Strategy effective through August of 2020. During the Summer of 2020, the plan extended the plan through August of 2021 with a focus on reopening.
