Chef-instructors are February Employees of the Month

WESTFORD — Chef-Instructor Jeremy Bussiere from Hospitality Management and Chef-Instructor Carley Capraro from Culinary Arts are the February Employees of the Month for their above-and-beyond efforts at providing lunch at the Cameron Senior Center on Tuesday, Feb. 26, for Westford residents who lost power during a winter storm.

Folks without power were centrally located at the senior center, and town officials called The Elegant Chef to see if the staff and students could provide lunch at short notice.

Jobee O’Sullivan witnessed the duo rally the students to provide corn chowder, a Caesar salad, and pasta and meatballs and dinner rolls, and deliver it all to the senior center. O’Sullivan nominated Bussiere and Capraro for their “selfless service to the local community in a time of need.” She added: “Staff and students from the Culinary Arts and Hospitality programs didn’t hesitate to fulfill the request despite also prepping to serve lunch to their daily Elegant Chef guests. Within two hours, lunch was delivered to the Cameron Senior Center consisting of Caesar salad, pasta with meatballs and homemade corn chowder. Having assisted with the delivery, I witnessed firsthand how appreciative the volunteer staff was of their efforts.”
