Ricard and Spencer are April's Employees of the Month

Sally Ricard, the instructor for the Marketing program, was nominated by Hospitality Management Instructor Jeremy Bussiere for her role in helping students to achieve excellence in the DECA program, where one student won first place at the state level and six others received medals. Also, a team of three Marketing seniors represented Nashoba Tech at the DECA International Career Development Conference in April. Bussiere wrote: “Sally has been a very helpful mentor to me and also to my Hospitality students.  She has taken extra time out of her day to guide some of my students through the DECA competition process. One of the Hospitality juniors even took home a winning metal. Sally has also taken extra time to help support me to build a better and more up-to-date curriculum for my incoming freshmen. She has given me guidance and tools to help mold the Hospitality program into a more modern version of the program.”

Aaron Spencer, a guidance counselor was nominated by Health Assisting Instructor Theresa Ristaino for his role in helping students to achieve excellence in the SkillsUSA program. Nashoba Tech students won four gold medals at the District Competition, as well as seven silver medals and nine bronze medals. At the State Conference at the end of April, one student earned a gold medal and will represent Nashoba Tech at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in June in Kentucky. Ristaino wrote: “Aaron did an amazing job getting our kids ready for SkillsUSA and making sure the day of the competition ran smoothly. He was organized, the kids were prepared, and it showed in the results.”
