Jason Gendron, who is entering his senior year at Nashoba Tech, proudly displays the silver medal he won at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference. Jason is a Dracut resident.

Jason Gendron, a junior from Dracut, earned a silver medal in the Information Technology Services event at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, held recently in Louisville, Ky. — the highest finish ever at the national championships for a Nashoba Tech student.

Jason earned a spot in the Nationals by winning a gold medal at the SkillsUSA State Competition and, before that, a silver medal in the District Competition.

Jason said he studied a lot leading up to the national conference.

“It’s a tough competition,” he said. “There’s a test component, and a large portion of it is hands-on.”

Though Dracut is not part of Nashoba Tech’s district, Jason elected to attend because of the school’s highly touted Engineering Academy. He is a high-honors student and a Dual Enrollment student, attending Middlesex Community College full time while remaining highly active at Nashoba Tech. He was also recognized as a Student of the Month in June.
