Read handout on #26107 Introduction to the National Electrical Code
Answer review questions #1-10 at the end of the handout that will be due on Wednesday May 8th.

On Wednesday there will a worksheet given out that will done in class and if not finished done for homework and due on Thursday May 9th.

There will be a quiz on Friday May 10th on this topic.
5/06/13 > JUNIORS: 5/6-5/10/2013 200 AMP Service Project in shop
Juniors will install a 200 amp service panel and meter socket with branch circuits for 15amp, 20amp, 30amp, and 50amp circuits.


There will be a quiz on article 230 services on Friday May 10th.
4/29/13 > SOPHOMORES 4/29-5/3/2013: INSTALLATION OF ELECTRIC SERVICES
Students will be given a handout on "Installation of electric Services" and be told to review the handout then answer the review questions in the handout. There will a quiz on Friday on the material covered.

Also, students will be doing a 100 amp service project in shop during the week. With a partner.
4/22/13 > FRESHMEN 4/22-4/26/2013 CONSTRUCTION MATH
Students will be given a handout on construction math and will have review the handout and look up and answer the review questions in the handout. It is due by Friday 4/26/2013.
4/22/13 > JUNIORS 4/22-4/26/2013: ARTICLE 250 GROUNDING OPEN BOOK QUESTIONS
Students will read a question and look it up in the National Electrical Code book in article 250 Grounding. Then answer the questions.

Monday-Friday: We will be going over the handout Wiring: Residential (part 2)

There will be the quiz on Thursday on Residential Wiring.
3/18/13 > JUNIORS: INTRODUCTION TO BLUEPRINTS 3/18-3/22/2013
Introduction to Blueprints.

Monday: Handouts will be given out and homework is answering the review questions at the end of the handout.

Tuesday: Review questions Will be due and we will correct them.

Wednesday: Workbook questions will be given for classwork and homework and due on Thursday.

Thursday: We will correct the workbook questions.

Friday: TEST on Introduction to Blueprints. and there is no homework.
3/11/13 > SOPHOMORES: RESIDENTIAL WIRING 3/11-3/15/2013
Monday: Students will be given a handout on Monday with review questions #1-10 due on Tuesday.

Tuesday: We will collect and go over review questions, and students will be given workbook questions that are due on Wednesday.

Wednesday: Workbook questions are due today. We will collect them and go over the answers.

Thursday: No Homework

Friday: No Homework There will be a teats today on residential wiring.
3/04/13 > FRESHMEN: ELECTRICAL SAFETY 3/4-3/8/2013
We will be covering Electrical Safety for our theory class this week.

Students will be given a handout with review questions in it, and workbook questions and they will both be due on Friday 3/8/2013.

There will be quiz on it on Friday 3/8/2013.

2/25/13 > SOPHOMORES: SAFETY 2/25-3/1/2013
We will be going over General Safety, and General Power Tool Safety this week.
The students will have a handout with questions in to be completed and turned in by Friday 3/1/2013.

Grade close on Friday 3/1/2013 so if you have any work you have not turned yet make sure you pass it in or it is incomplete and results in a 0 for a grade on that assignment.
2/11/13 > NEW FRESHMEN coming into ELECTRICAL
Please take a look at the TOOL list for shop and the supplies you need for THEORY.

When you come into the shop we have an engraving tool so you can engrave your name on your tools so they can be easily identified from another persons tools.
2/06/13 > Sophomore Theory Mid-Year Exam
Theory Mid Year Exam will be given on Units #1-6 Basic Electricity.
Study handouts an your notes.
It is a open note test.
2/04/13 > SOPHOMORE SHOP MIDYEAR EXAM
Midyear Shop Midyear Exam will be given on Monday 2/4/13 and be due by 2/8/13.

1/14/13 > Sophomores: Study for Mid Year Exam on Chapter 1 Basic Electricity
Students will review Chapter 1, Units 1-6 on Basic Electricity.
You will answer questions on Basic Electricity Fundamentals, to prepare for mid-year exam on Chapter 1 Basic Electricity.
Test will be given on Feburary 4th and will be due by Feb 8th.
1/14/13 > Juniors: Chapter 2 on Basic Electricity Units 7, 8, 9
Students will be going over units 7, 8, 9 from chapter 2 on Basic Electricity.

The units will review ohm's law, electrical fundamentals and other electrical equation problems.

Students will be given out handouts, watch videos listens to lectures we will discuss how electricity relates to what we do and how it works.

Each unit will have questions at the end on the unit and there will be a test at the end of the 3 units in chapter 2 on basic electricity.
1/07/13 > Sophomores: Units 5 & 6, Chapter 1 Basic Electricity
Chapter 1 Basic Electricity read Units 5 & 6 and answer the questions at the end of the units.
We will watch the video on these units and review the video as it plays we will stop it and discuss important points.
Turn in questions when you have answered all the questions.
1/04/13 > Juniors: 30-Hour OSHA Construction Test

Test will be on Friday 1/4/2013 Juniors in Electrical, Plumbing and Carpentry. Study for the test, it is a open note test. You can take as long as you like and you have to get a 70% or better to pass the test. There are 100 questions on the test.

12/17/12 > Sophomores: Units #1-4, Chapter 1 Basic Electrical Theory
Unit 1 Matter answer practice questions #1-22 Due Tuesday 12/18

Unit 2 Electron Theory answer practice questions #1-10 Due Wednesday 12/19

Unit 3 Magnetism answer questions #1-16 Due Thursday 12/20

We will watch the video on these units and review the video as it plays we will stop it and discuss important points.
Turn in questions when you have answered all the questions.
12/10/12 > Freshemen Exploratory for 1-week cycle
Freshmen Exploratory students over their 1 week of exploratory in electrical will be wiring a hands on project.

It will include romex wire, metal clad cables, EMT conduit, PVC conduit, conductors, switches and light fixtures.
12/10/12 > Juniors 12/10-12/14/12 Power Tool Performance Tests
Students will be going over from last year and reviewing power tools and completing their performance tests for various power tools.
12/10/12 > Juniors: 30-Hour OSHA Construction Class
Class will run all week Monday through Friday. The class is from 8:30-10:30 in the morning.
The class runs for 3 weeks.

Lectures, Demonstrations, Videos and Guest Speakers will be in to discuss and review the different safety topics about construction safety in today's workplace.

9/04/12 > FRESHMEN EXPLORATORY 2012-2013
DEAR PARENTS OF EXPLORATORY STUDENTS,

PLEASE MAKE SURE IF YOUR CHILD IS GOING TO BE IN A PROGRAM THAT NEEDS SAFETY EQUIPMENT SUCH AS WORK BOOTS, SAFETY GLASSES OR LONG PANTS, THAT THEY HAVE IT WITH THEM.

IN ELECTRICAL THEY WILL NEED SAFETY GLASSES WHICH THE SCHOOL WILL SUPPLY THEIR FIRST PAIR. IF THEY LOSE THEM THEY WILL HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER PAIR.

STURDY SHOES, OR SNEAKERS NO OPEN TOE SHOES, FOR EXPLORATORY ONLY.

PERMANENT ELECTRICAL STUDENTS WILL NEED WORK BOOTS, AND JEANS (COTTON) AND SAFETY GLASSES.
