Nashoba Tech News Highlights

Nashoba Valley Tech News is recorded each day "live to tape" and it is played back through our in house cable TV network, and live on the Internet throughout the day including during homeroom and all student lunches.

We began our newscast at Nashoba Valley Technical High School in November 2006 and include industry standard script formatting. The topics of the news are gathered by students brainstorming at morning production meetings and are managed by the student assignment editor. News topics include highlights of student and faculty accomplishments, school clubs and activities as well as announcements of upcoming activities at Nashoba Tech. Students also pursue "out of school" stories including exclusive interviews with Governor Deval Patrick regarding educational initiatives as well as one on one interviews with Red Sox players. Important roles filled by students in each morning production include producer, director, graphics designer, playback operator, teleprompter, camera operator, and lighting operator. Using Avid and Adobe Software completes our production.

Nashoba Valley Tech News is also the winner of 2 Associated Press Awards for Best High School News Cast in 2007 and 2008.

You can view many videos and newscasts produced by the TV/Media program in our Video Center.
