Programming and Web Development


Students in the Programming and Web Development Program are training to become computer technology specialists, web designers, programmers, and information specialists.  The program is designed to enable students to succeed in a highly technical, global environment. Students create and understand the technical details of networks and computers. Programming console applications and building web sites are just examples of the myriad of projects that students complete in this program.

 

Students become proficient with popular software packages including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Alice programming, Java, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.  Students also create games using GameMaker software.   Introduction to game design focuses on both design and development concepts. Students are be required to study gaming on multiple levels, including but not limited to game play, graphics, controls and storyline.

 

 Students master the skills necessary to maintain and upgrade personal computers, while gaining an understanding of networking technologies design and administration. Students plan and write programs that provide computers with applications.Web sites are designed with a student’s inspiration to create graphics and animation while presenting information to the user.  Business communications and management procedures are a vital part of this course.  Students have the opportunity to earn MOUS (Microsoft Office User Specialist) and IC³ (Internet and Computing Core Certification). The program is an official Certiport testing center for IC³ which helps it couple training and certification of an unsurpassed learning experience.

 

Graduates of this program are prepared for positions in the fields of computers, such as business and telecommunications, including computer information systems service and support. Other positions that include web designer and program developer.  Students who successfully complete this program easily transfer to Associate, Bachelor, and Graduate degree programs at many colleges or universities.

  • $825 tuition waiver and one foundation module (not a credit based system)
