Nashoba Tech junior Margaret Mescall (Chelmsford) holds the award she received for Best Animation Piece at the Merrimack Valley Film Festival.

       WESTFORD — Students in the TV & Media Production/Theatre Arts program at Nashoba Tech won three awards in the recent annual Merrimack Valley Film Festival.

        Margaret Mescall, a junior from Chelmsford, won Best Animation Piece for “I Put the Ship in Friendship.”

        The team of sophomores Thomas Eyles (Townsend), Shelby O’Rourke 
(Chelmsford) and Danielle St. Amand (Chelmsford) won Best Public Service Announcement for “Share That Road!”

        The team of sophomores Melynda Barlow (Chelmsford), William Featherston (Pepperell), Garrett Filiatrault (Westford), Jayna Hawkes (Chelmsford) and Danielle St. Amand won Best Studio and Live Production for “Boys Basketball Game vs. Notre Dame.”

        The Merrimack Valley Film Festival is hosted annually by the Lowell High School Fine Arts Department and Lowell Educational Television.
