SCHEMINGER, BECKER NAMED DECEMBER EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTHEOM 12 15

WESTFORD — Jeffrey Scheminger, Engineering Technology instructor, and Douglas Becker, Programming & Web Development instructor have been named December's Employees of the Month for providing the impetus behind Nashoba Tech’s recent hosting of a First Lego League competition among students from local middle schools.

About 200 students competed in the tournament, which was hosted by Nashoba Tech’s FIRST Robotics Club, of which Scheminger and Becker are co-advisers.

Gabriella White, director of curriculum, nominated Scheminger,
writing: “Jeff spearheaded bringing the competition to Nashoba, organized the entire event and oversaw all elements throughout the competition. The event was complex and required multiple levels of organization, all of which Jeff handled with ease and calm. This was truly a showcase of the wonderful opportunities, facilities, students and staff at Nashoba Valley Technical School.”

Scheminger, in turn, nominated Becker for his time and effort in bringing the Lego League competition to Nashoba Tech and helping to make it a success.
