CALIE BRIDGES, THOMAS EYLES NAMED DECEMBER ATHLETES OF THE MONTHAOM.12.15

WESTFORD — Calie Bridges of Pepperell and Thomas Eyles of Townsend have been selected as December’s Athletes of the Month at Nashoba Valley Technical High School.

Calie Bridges is a standout basketball player for the Vikings, and nowhere were her skills and leadership more evident than in a game against Innovation Academy Charter School when she hit the game-winning shot as time expired. It was the Vikings’ first victory of the season.

Calie was inducted into the National Honor Society last year as a sophomore. She is enrolled in the Dental Assisting program, and is currently attending Middlesex Community College through the Dual Enrollment program.

In nominating Calie, girls basketball coach James Creed wrote: “With her team down 20-4 at the half, Calie led the Vikings not only with her play but with emotional leadership. Calie is the leading scorer on the team, as well as someone who leads by example with her dedication to academics while on dual enrollment.”

Thomas Eyles, son of Greg and Jane Eyles, is a sophomore wrestler in the 170-182 weight classes.

This is the first season in nearly two decades that Nashoba Tech has
fielded a wrestling team, and coach Bill Corr wrote in his nomination that Thomas is “one of the hardest workers in practice.”

Thomas is a high-honors student in the TV & Media Production/Theatre

Arts program.
