SkillsUSA is a national membership association serving high school, college and middle school students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.

All of our students participate in our Nashoba Valley Technical High School SkillsUSA Chapter. Students prepare throughout the year in their technical area to compete at The District Leadership Conference that takes place in March. The goal of the District SkillsUSA Championships is to assess contestant’s competence in their specific occupational area and in employability skills, development and safety through standardized testing. Students displaying the greatest level of competency will advance to the Massachusetts SkillsUSA Championships.

At the Massachusetts SkillsUSA Championships, students demonstrate their level of competency in hands-on skills competition, standardized occupational testing and employability skills testing. Students that place in the top 3 of their competition earn medals and the 1st place student’s advance to the National SkillsUSA Championships which are held in Louisville, Kentucky.

At the SkillsUSA National Championships, more than 6,000 students compete in 100 occupational and leadership skill areas each June. These national technical competitions help establish industry standards for job skill training and entry-level workers.
For the past 4 years, Nashoba Valley Technical High School students have earned the honor of advancing to the National SkillsUSA Championships to represent Nashoba Valley Technical High School.
