Dear Parents and Students:
Welcome to the Nashoba Valley Technical School District, serving the eight member towns of Ayer, Chelmsford, Groton, Littleton, Pepperell, Shirley, Townsend, and Westford.
Nashoba Valley Technical School District inspires its students to believe in themselves as they focus on their future goals, whether they aspire to continue on to postsecondary education in their chosen field, enter the skilled workforce or the military, or choice to embark upon a combination of these options.
As educators, our collective focus is to provide the highest quality academic and technical education possible to ensure that our students master college readiness and workforce skills, credentials, and experience when they graduate. We have a responsibility to our students to provide them with relevant learning opportunities that focus on labor market trends and the needs of industry, while also providing them with a solid academic foundation and a lifelong love of learning. We constantly explore and review our programs to meet the needs of our students and the future workforce.
Within the past few years, Nashoba Valley Technical High School expanded its 20 technical program offerings to include two new technical programs, Veterinary Assisting and Biotechnology, while updating and revitalizing the Machine Tool Technology program. The latter program re-opened as the Advanced Manufacturing Program at the start of the 2016-2017 school year thanks to a $500,000 Workforce Skills Capital Grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Students enrolled in our Veterinary Assisting program have the unique opportunity of working in an onsite veterinary clinic thanks to our partnership with MSPCA/Angell Memorial, while Biotechnology’s specifically designed technical and academic classes, and our one-of-a-kind Engineering Academy prepares students for a future in STEM – (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) related fields, including robotics, engineering, and Biotechnology. All three of these programs have presented unique and rewarding opportunities for Nashoba Tech students.
Nashoba Valley Technical High School’s academic program consists of a core curriculum for all grades in all subjects. All academic courses are aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and are designed for utmost success on standardized exams including the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS), Advanced Placement, SAT and the Stanford exams. Nashoba Valley Technical High School also offers a college preparatory and honors program in all grade levels, and advanced placement courses are available during the junior and senior years. Our academic success is evidenced by the number of students who are awarded the highly prestigious Abigail Adams Scholarship each year by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We are proud to say that our school is awarded the maximum number of scholarships each year.
To ensure that our students are well-rounded, Nashoba Valley Technical High School’s 20 technical programs and solid academic curriculum are complemented by a wide-ranging, no-fee sports program and a comprehensive arts program that includes a new dance and art studio.
We look forward to welcoming you and your family to the Nashoba Valley Technical School District community. We hope you will take advantage of our new online registration that allows you to register online, making the process easy for students and their families.
